Proper Recovery Care Is Essential To Healing After A Procedure.
Whether you’re just starting to research procedures or are already healing from a recent surgery, post-op care should be high on your priority list for a successful recovery. Proper post-op care doesn’t just reduce the risk of infections and complications; it can actually promote faster healing and improve the results of cosmetic procedures like liposuction, mommy makeovers, BBLs, facelifts, and more. Review our recommended recovery plan, and schedule a consultation for a treatment plan customized to you.
Drain Removal
FROM 5 TO 7 DAYS POST-OP
Many surgeries such as tummy tucks, breast enhancements, and some liposuction procedures may require a drain to be inserted near the incision site to promote drainage after surgery. Once the drainage has stopped and you are cleared for drain removal by your doctor, we will gladly remove the drains for you.
Incisional Draining
FROM 48 HOURS POST-OP
Necessary when a client has an open incision or a drain, incisional draining involves a massage therapist working the fluid building towards the openings. This continues as the incision is open. Incisional drainage helps the body get rid of the inflammation that can cause pain, bringing a comforting relief.
Compression Garment Fitting & Alteration
FROM 1 WEEK POST-OP
Compression garments, sometimes known as Fajas, are not one-size-fits-all, which is why we would be more than happy to have you properly fitted. Compression garments should be worn as early as one week following surgery and should be refitted continuously as you heal. We offer fitting and alterations recommendations to make recovery as easy as possible after surgery.
Suture Removal
2 WEEKS POST-OP
Removal of sutures depends on how fast the skin is healing. In most cases, sutures are ready to be removed when the wound is fully healed. Suture removal is important to reduce the chance of infection and scarring. Keeping stitches in longer than necessary can also make it harder to take them out. Following instructions from your doctor, one of our in-house professionals will gladly remove the sutures for you.
Lymphatic Body Massage
FROM 2 TO 16 WEEKS POST-OP
Post-operative Lymphatic drainage massage reduces swelling throughout the body by gently moving and improving the flow of lymph fluid. This makes lymphatic massage perfect for anyone who has undergone surgery, either cosmetic or reconstructive since swelling is part of the body’s natural healing process. We use the Vodder technique which is painless but effective.
Lymphatic Facial Massage
FROM 2 DAYS TO 8 WEEKS POST-OP
A facelift lymphatic massage is a gentle, upward-motion massage that increases lymph drainage after facelift surgery. The main benefit of lymphatic massage after facelift surgery is to speed up the recovery process. After facelift surgery, there may be some swelling and tenderness which is considered normal. Lymphatic massage may improve inflammation and discomfort while softening the skin around the scar tissue.
Fibrosis Removal
FROM 2 DAYS TO 8 WEEKS POST-OP
Fibrosis can be removed with specialty massage. More advanced Fibrosis can take many sessions and additional treatments to correct. If you’re experiencing symptoms similar to Fibrosis before 6 weeks post-op, it’s likely skin hardening from lymph fluid absorbing in your skin. The best thing to do is to get in touch as soon as possible to begin Lymphatic Drainage Massage and get fitted for a compression garment to avoid Fibrosis in the coming weeks.
