What Is Drain Removal?
Surgical draining is often used to remove pus, blood, or other bodily fluids to stop fluid from building up and promote healing after surgery. Tubes are typically inserted near the incision site and can be removed once the drainage has stopped. Standard procedures that may require a surgical drain are tummy tucks, breasts, and some HBMI liposuction procedures. Once you are cleared for drain removal by your doctor, we will gladly remove the drains for you.
Why Is Proper Drain Removal Important Following Surgery?
Surgical drains intend to remove unwanted fluid or air from the surgical site. Drains are removed by a healthcare professional once fluid has decreased, stopped, or when your doctor decides it should be removed. Drains left in place for longer periods may increase infection chances and can become difficult to remove.
Drain Removal Is Recommended 5 -7 Days Following Surgery.
Drain removal sessions are 30 minutes long and can be performed in the comfort of your home.
